All About Before & After School Care
At Explorers Learning Center, the Before & After School program offers a warm, home-like environment for school-age children who need care outside regular classroom hours. Whether it’s early mornings or afternoons, students are given a space to connect with friends, play, and unwind in a positive setting. Importantly, this program is electronics-free — giving kids the chance to stretch their imaginations, enjoy active play, and share laughter with peers. Homework help is also available, so students can get support with schoolwork in a relaxed setting before heading home or into the school day.
The team behind the program consists of dedicated, caring professionals who are deeply committed to the welfare and growth of each child. All teachers at the K2 campus undergo thorough background checks, FBI fingerprinting, and hold certifications in CPR and First Aid. They also maintain 24-36 hours of continuing education per year to stay up-to-date on best practices in childhood education. These qualifications ensure that children are not just supervised, but nurtured in a safe, knowledgeable, and supportive environment.
Facilities at the K2 campus are designed to enhance learning, play, and comfort. Students in the Before/After School care program have access to their own library area, science/math centers, building and engineering centers, and private restroom facilities. For physical activity, there’s a large 10,000 square foot gymnastics gym used daily for PE along with a 7,000 square foot playground. These amenities help students stay active, curious, and engaged throughout their time before or after school.
For families interested in enrolling, Explorers offers flexible pricing and several discount options. The program has three plan options: Before & After School, Before School Only, or After School Only. Weekly tuition ranges depending on the plan. In addition, there are discounts for siblings (10%), veterans or military families (5%), and teachers (5%). There’s also an annual membership fee, with a family-maximum cap. The program serves several local schools and offers sample daily schedules so parents and students know what to expect during before-school and after-school times.
